The Book that became September
For thirty days, The Master and Margarita ran alongside my life like a second city. Somewhere between Moscow and Manhattan, I became obsessed with Radiohead, stopped demanding that the book explain itself, and let its absurdity become its own kind of logic. By the end, I was crying—not from grief exactly, but from recognition. I think this book will always be September for me.
